I was born into a wealthy family of wizards. I was expected to learn magic and become a wizard. I always had a hard time with magic, and my parents always seemed disappointed in that fact. I decided to find a powerful wizard and become his apprentice. It took me a few weeks but I finally found someone to teach me.

My parents were very excited about my first day of apprenticeship, and after just 1 month it was over. In that time I had only managed to learn 1 spell, and my master was convinced I wouldn’t be able to learn anymore. I knew my parents were going to be disappointed, so I decided to steal one of my masters artifacts and use that to impress my parents.

My master caught me stealing and he transformed me into a mimic as punishment. I realized that now I couldn’t become a wizard, but I was finally free to live my own life. I told my master if he wanted, we could pretend I was still training under him so my parents would keep paying him. He liked that idea and I wrote my parents a few letters so he could send them periodically to keep up appearances. I then left and started my new journey to see the world.
